Zach Fischer recently completed work on a twelve pages story that will be included in the next Heroes of the North Omnibus, coming out this September, as part of the exclusive, print only stories of that book.
He also offered us this illustration of the main hero of the piece. Enjoy!
Here is the coloured version of the Heroes of the North Omnibus 2 cover by Geof Isherwood. The second Omnibus which should come out some time this summer will feature stories written by Yann and Michel Brouillette, with a special guest writer, Ty Templeton, who writes a Canadian story (illustrated by Mr. Richard Pace) and Art by David J. Cutler, Gibson Quarter (with some inks by Guillermo Ortego), Geof Isherwood, Dan Parent and a few more! We have to keep some surprises after all. The entire book will be lettered by Keiren Smith. Like the last installement, there will also be several pinups by Donald Caron, Michael Dooney, Joel Adams, Sv Bell and Dan Parent plus bonus stories you will not find anywhere else. You can get a cleaner view of the illustration by visiting our Artists Interpretations Gallery.
We commissioned artist Zach Fisher to create Chibi versions of our characters. For those not in the know, Chibi is a specific style of Japanese caricature where characters are drawn in an exaggerated way, typically small and chubby, with stubby limbs and oversized heads, to make them resemble small children. We are very happy with the end results which can be viewed in its own special Chibis section in our Galleries.
Olivier Raymond is selling his unsold Heroes of the North conventions sketches in our store! Get your favourite Heroes or Villains!
We will also be introducing a new section for original art. The first items will be pieces from the Fleur-de-Lys comics by Olivier Raymond and a Crimson original by Armando Huerta.
As you have no doubt noticed, the entire website is undergoing changes so this new pieces will be added over the next few days!
As for the major changes underway on the website, a blog post will go through them in details, beyond the apparent cosmetic changes. Thank you for your patience!
Al Rio was one of the first big time artists to jump on board our little project. He drew the Fleur-de-Lys below. His implications helped pave the way for other artists to jump on board and lent us credibility. So it is with great sadness that we heard he has passed away this morning, from an apparent suicide. Fans are invited to leave messages on his DeviantArt page. Our thoughts and sympathies go to his friends and family. May he rest in peace.
Well, today was artists day at HOTN Central! First we got the amazing work in progress art by Michael Dooney for the upcoming Nordik comic book cover. Then we got some layout art for an upcoming comic book by Olivier Raymond, which we cannot disclose yet because we do not want to spoil anything - that story has HUGE repercussions in the Heroes of the North Universe. No kidding! - and now we just received the print cover for the Alpha Q comic, dramatically rendered by our go-to artist for covers, Donald Caron! Enjoy! For this piece, Donald did a photo session with Alpha Q actor Yann Brouillette and the results are nothing less than stunning! We are sure you will definitely agree!
Here is the stunning pencil work by Michael Dooney for his cover of the digital comic book version of the story written by Yann Brouillette and penciled and inked by David Cutler, with colours and letters by Keiren Smith. One word: Spectacular!
